A few more essays and work to finish before traveling
A few weeks ago I wrote about delaying some work travel to China and Israel until after I completed and published a few essays. I am delaying that travel again for a few reasons.
I have published a few of the planned essays, and I also began transferring writings to a new blog platform. I do want to finish a few more of these before traveling. Also, during the last few weeks I made a few more breakthroughs in understanding my current situation. I’ve found more evidence that my divorce situation was and still is political, and I found evidence that may indicate my prior marriage itself was more politically calculated than I understood.
I’ve also had a really tough few days emotionally while not being able to see my son Homer for his birthday, despite multiple attempts to try to see him or at least get him a birthday gift. After getting over the emotional shock of that, I have been thinking carefully about both what this means and how to respond. I still call Homer my son despite there being explicit question from Sinclaire on whether he is biologically related to me. Even if Homer were my grandson, I would make it a priority to see him and get him a gift. I parented Homer (and really still am parenting him and Sinclaire and even Ronda, despite being distant), and I cannot understand why another parent or caretaker would deny a child the presence of a parent, especially if that parent was demonstrably always a stabilizing and positive influence in the child’s life. The one scenario that is clear, is a case of attempted political control. I have been trying to find every reason why this couldn’t possibly be the case (and with that, to find reason not to discuss the divorce and custody so publicly), but the evidence is mounting that this is what it is about.
